Project Permanence

Cooking

If you have the ingredients, you can cook it. Recipes use real crops, ranch goods and common fish from the other trades, so cooks end up buying from everyone else.

Start here/cooking, Mara Bell at the inn

How it works

Put the ingredients in a crafting table to make an uncooked meal. Each recipe names the exact crops it needs, and renamed vanilla items don't count. Then cook it in a smoker, furnace or campfire. The smoker is fastest.

Your Cooking level is mastery. It never locks a recipe, so you can cook anything you have the ingredients for. /cooking lists every recipe and what it needs.

The loop

  1. Gather ingredients: Permanence crops, ranch meat, chicken and eggs, or raw common fish.
  2. Craft the meal, then cook it.
  3. Eat it, sell it, or deliver it to Mara Bell.
  4. Visit Mara Bell once to unlock her inn board. She posts five orders that change every 12 hours, and you can deliver up to the asked amount of each one yourself.

Wine

Three farm berries and a glass bottle make Young Wine. Leave it in a barrel and it becomes Wine after 3 days, Fine Wine after 7 and Vintage after 21. Only time in the barrel counts.

Where it leads

Inn orders are a steady income, and better meals feed you for longer. Cooking buys from farmers, ranchers and anglers, and island recipes need crops from the islands out at sea. The Cook's Path in /quests pays coins as you cook, eat and fill orders.

In game, /guide explains every system and /menu opens them all.
