Guides / Smithing
Smithing
Smithing goes from level 1 to 100. You make parts, forge the metal ones at an anvil, join them into a piece and then add modifiers.
/smithy, any anvil, the Master Smith in townHow it works
Each part takes a trait from its material, so a wood handle and an iron head behave differently. Metal parts must be forged to True at an anvil before you can assemble them. Quality goes Unforged, True, Tempered, Masterwork, and better parts make a stronger piece.
Smithing pieces can't be enchanted. They take modifiers instead, such as Haste, Sharp, Reinforced, Luck and Protection, plus abilities like Silky, Smelting and Soulbound at higher levels.
Your first pickaxe
- Open /smithy and pick the Part Bench. Make a wood handle, a stone head and a leather binding. All three are open at level 1.
- Sneak and right-click an anvil, click Assemble, put the parts in and stop the marker on gold. A miss loses nothing.
- Use it. Mining, fighting and taking hits level the piece up and give it more modifier slots.
- Hold the piece and open /smithy modify to add a modifier from level 6.
Where it leads
Copper opens at level 5, iron at 10, and the alloys Rose Gold, Steel, Emberforged and Echosteel open from 25 to 85. From about level 70 the top modifier levels go past vanilla limits. Gear never breaks: at 1 durability it stops working until you repair it at the forge, at the Master Smith or in a vanilla anvil. Visit the Master Smith once to sell parts and pieces and fill his three part orders every 12 hours. Vanilla enchanting still works on vanilla gear.
In game, /guide explains every system and /menu opens them all.
