How to join
The server is free, there's no whitelist and you don't sign up anywhere. You need Minecraft Java Edition 26.2, or Bedrock on a phone, console or Windows.
play.projectpermanence.co.uk
Java
- Open Minecraft 26.2 and pick Multiplayer.
- Click Add Server and paste
play.projectpermanence.co.uk. - Join, and accept the resource pack when it asks. You can't play without it, because the custom fish, crops and gear are in it.
Only 26.2 can join for now. If Minecraft says the client or the server is outdated, switch your version to 26.2 in the launcher.
Bedrock
Go to Play, then Servers, then Add Server. Use play.projectpermanence.co.uk with port 19132. Some cosmetics from the store can't show on Bedrock yet, so they aren't sold to Bedrock players.
Your first hour
- You arrive in the Harbour and a short tour starts by itself. Type
/tutorialif you want to go round it again. - The Trade Book asks which trade you want to start with. It only decides where your first steps point, and you can do every trade.
- Fish off the pier or buy seeds from the Master Farmer. The Fishmonger buys fish and the Greengrocer buys crops.
- When you want a base,
/rtptakes you out of town. Right click two opposite corners with a golden shovel to claim the land. You start with 1,000 claim blocks and earn more as you play. - Once you've got 500 coins, the Town Clerk sells your first title, Peasant, and each title comes with a few perks.
The guides explain every trade in more detail.
Common problems
- The resource pack won't load
- On Java, select the server in your list, click Edit and set Server Resource Packs to Enabled. Then join again. If it still fails, ask on Discord and tell me your version.
- I can't build in town
- The Harbour is protected so nobody can grief it. Use
/rtpto find land, or buy a plot in town with/property. - How do I make money?
- Sell what you make to the traders in town, or to other players on the auction house. Fishing and farming are the easiest places to start.
- I'm lost
/spawntakes you back to the Harbour.- It's quiet
- It's a small server, so some evenings there are only a few people on. People chat on Discord when they're offline.
